If you are a saltwater fly fisherman or have thought about giving
fly fishing a try, South Jersey Coastal Fly
Anglers welcomes you to join us. We are a
non-competitive, non-political teaching club dedicated to furthering the
sport of fly fishing. As President, I am very proud to represent
our club. We are a hands on club for the benefit of our
members, and we try to provide programs that our members want. We
are very fortunate to have so many active members willing to help
us in our efforts.
My personal goal has been to make everyone feel welcome, to get to know
all our members and to make sure we work towards our
membership goals. After the first meeting you will feel the
spirit of our club, get to meet others who share the same enthusiasm for
fly fishing and feel like you have been a member for awhile.
Fly fishing is not mystical. It is just another enjoyable way
to catch fish. We will make your learning curve much
shorter. Novice fly fisherman can feel comfortable and our
experienced anglers are eager to help those who need
any help. Rigging, Casting, Flies, Tying --we touch on
all aspects of the sport.
Fly fishing is fun, but catching fish on the fly is even more
fun. Our goal is to make you feel confident that you have the
tools, the know how, and the ability to get out and catch some
fish. All of us started with no skills and we know how
novices feel. Let us smooth your road ahead and help you
eliminate common mistakes. We are here for your benefit.
Running the club is a team effort. I am fortunate to have a
dedicated,active board of directors and officers. We couldn't
run as well as we do without them. As for our members, they
make our club what it is. They must like what our club is
about. We have great turnouts at our monthly meetings. They
come early, participate, and stay long after our meetings end. We
listen to their suggestions constantly trying to make the club better.
I welcome all those interested in fly fishing to be our guest at a
