Tying
Instructions By Dave Gelona |
 |
Wrap in a small clump of pink bucktail at
the bend of the hook. |
 |
Place two similar pink saddle hackles on
opposite sides on the bucktail, “praying hands” style. |
 |
Tie in a few strands of purple Krystal
Flash, folded over itself, making sure to stagger the ends. |
 |
Tie in pink Estaz flash at the hook bend,
then wrap it up to the hook eye. Make sure to leave a little space
to tie in the bucktail wing. Trim the Estaz fibers so it tapers from
a point in the front to wider in the back. |
 |
On the top of the hook at the eye, wrap in
a medium clump of pink bucktail. |
 |
On the top of the pink bucktail, tie in a
sparse amount of purple bucktail. Purple Angel Hair or Flashabou Mirage
flash would also work well here, if so desired. |
 |
On the top of the purple bucktail or
flash, tie in a few strands of peacock herl, for added iridescence.
The herl should extend to the back of the fly. |
 |
Whip finish the head and coat with cement.
Flat mylar eyes or jungle cock eyes can be added for effect, if desired |
